Matteo Gallus
Matteo began studying music theory, piano, and violin at the age of 6, continuing his classical training at the Conservatory. He later shifted his focus to modern music, studying guitar, bass, and drums, playing in various bands, and developing skills in composition and arrangement.
In 2011, Matteo opened a rehearsal room which, thanks to his growing passion for professional audio and courses in recording and music production, gradually evolved into a recording studio. At the same time, he attended a lutherie course, deepening his knowledge in the construction and maintenance of musical instruments.
In 2014, Matteo began studying electronics applied to audio, focusing on the repair and construction of professional equipment. These skills, developed through both study and practical experience, are used daily to maintain and optimize the gear, ensuring the proper functioning and efficiency of the studio's entire technical system.
Matteo began his training as a sound engineer with courses led by Enrico Sesselego and Alessandro Del Vecchio, followed by four advanced courses with Simone Coen, specializing in vocal production, drum recording, advanced mixing, and parallel techniques. He then attended masterclasses with some of the world's most renowned sound engineers, including Grammy Award winners Mick Guzauski, Chris Lord-Alge, and Sylvia Massy. These experiences exposed him to advanced recording and mixing techniques used in the most successful international projects, greatly enriching his technical expertise and allowing him to bring a standard of excellence to the projects he manages daily.
In parallel, Matteo personally built several studios, including Soundream Studio, gaining practical expertise in acoustics, with a particular focus on soundproofing and acoustic treatment.
This combination of musical, electronic, acoustic, and technical skills allows Matteo to have deep control over every phase of audio production. His knowledge extends beyond sound, encompassing the technical and structural characteristics of instruments and equipment, as well as the acoustics of spaces. This enables him to make precise and informed decisions, consistently ensuring the best possible outcome for every project.
